How to Swap Tokens on Base

Base is one of the cheapest, fastest chains to trade on — swaps often cost just pennies in gas. Here's how to make your first swap on Base in about a minute, without creating an account.

Base is an Ethereum layer-2 network built for low fees and quick settlement. Because it's an L2, you get the security of Ethereum with a fraction of the cost. To trade on it, you'll use a non-custodial DEX aggregator so your funds stay in your wallet and you always get the best available price.

Step by step

  1. Open Kryllex and connect your wallet. Go to kryllex.com and click Connect Wallet. Pick your wallet and approve the connection — this only shares your public address, nothing more.
  2. Select the Base network. In the swap box, open the network dropdown and choose Base. Your wallet may prompt you to switch networks — approve it.
  3. Choose your tokens. Set the "You pay" token (for example ETH) and the "You receive" token (for example USDC). You can search by name or paste any token's contract address.
  4. Enter an amount and review the quote. Type how much you want to swap. Kryllex checks 100+ DEXs and shows you the live rate, the best route, and the estimated network fee. Everything is visible before you commit.
  5. Confirm in your wallet. Click Swap, then review and sign the transaction in your wallet. Within seconds the new tokens land in your wallet on Base.
Tip: the first time you swap a particular token, your wallet may ask for a one-time "approval" transaction before the swap itself. That's normal and only needed once per token.

Getting funds onto Base

If your ETH is on Ethereum mainnet, you can bridge it to Base using the official Base bridge or buy directly on Base through Coinbase. Once you have a small amount of ETH on Base for gas plus the token you want to trade, you're set.

Staying safe

Only ever trade from the real site, double-check token contract addresses before importing an unfamiliar token, and never share your seed phrase.
